NELSON selected by Gogo to take workplace to new altitudes

Chicago, Illinois - Gogo (NASDAQ: GOGO), the world leader of in-flight connectivity and a pioneer in wireless in-flight digital entertainment solutions, has hired NELSON, a global interior design, architecture, engineering, strategies, workplace services and information services firm, to plan and design Gogo’s new corporate headquarters in Chicago, IL and its expanded business aviation facility  in Broomfield, CO. NELSON’s design team has been tasked with creating a workplace design solution that allows for aggressive growth and flexibility while considering new ways of working and incorporating change management processes.

In one of the City of Chicago’s largest moves to date, Gogo’s relocation to downtown will see more than 460 employees occupy 232,000 square feet, with plans to add more than 50 jobs within the next two years.

“The project’s objective is to provide a workplace solution that better engages lab solutions with the office environment and positively impacts productivity through better adjacency of the engineering staff,” said Andrea Brandt, Principal, Senior Project Manager. “The focus will be on workplace solutions that promote and enhance the Gogo brand and reflect the expansion into additional domestic and international markets, improved quality of service and the evolution of customer usage and needs.”

In addition to NELSON, the project team consists of CBRE (real estate advisors and project management), Syska Hennessey Group (MEP Engineer and Communications), ECI (general contractor - Chicago) and Turner (general contractor - Broomfield).
