The Yard

San Jose, CA
The Yard

2820 Orchard Parkway “The Yard” is a 2-building complex in the heart of “Renovation Row”, an area in North San Jose that is attracting many high tech companies. The owners’ goal for this project was to create a product in the marketplace that would reflect a design that was unique to the surrounding competition.  The challenge was to create a cohesive design that incorporated materials from both existing buildings. The result is a contemporary industrial architecture that incorporates “reclaimed” brick, exposed structural steel, perforated metal panels and glass at the building exteriors. The landscape design also integrates similar industrial elements for an outdoor amenity area that features a “beer garden” concept complete with 3 beer taps, bar seating, picnic tables and lounge seating. 2820 Orchard Parkway “The Yard” is a 2-building complex in the heart of “Renovation Row”, an area in North San Jose that is attracting many high tech companies.
