After working with NELSON over the years on many corporate restacks and refresh projects, TD Bank approached our Philadelphia office with the idea to bring the retail WOW customer experience into the corporate workplace, to energize and excite the corporate employees. The WOW experience refers to a customer initiative for their retail locations with the primary goal of WOWing their customers. Starting with their US Headquarters location in Mt. Laurel, NJ, the NELSON Design Team worked with TD Bank to update their 1980’s space and furnishings to accommodate growth, create a more flexible work environment and add amenities for employees.
Part of the challenge in completing the design was renovating and updating the existing space while it continued to be occupied and used daily by the staff. To help ensure a smooth transition, the NELSON team coordinated and documented all aspects of the move that provided insight into the many teams and departments. They then met individually and directly with the end users to address any concerns they might have.
The final design solution incorporates several workplace options including collaborative open office environments, team and meeting rooms of various sizes and functions, quiet rooms that provide space for deeper concentration and pantries featuring healthy snacks. The end result is a new flexible work environment that wows employees and incorporates TD Bank’s brand and mission.
