Magenic Headquarters

When Magenic Technologies selected NELSON to provide full interior design, furniture and architectural services for their new headquarters, three key drivers were immediately established: Budget, Brand and Aesthetic.

The drivers had to work hand-in-hand (in-hand) to deliver a fresh, energizing and stimulating work environment that supported creativity, flexibility and, ultimately, the ability to develop and test the best software application solutions for Magenic’s clients.

Budget
NELSON delivered the entire space, including furniture, at an impressive cost per square footage. This was achieved by creatively value engineering the entire project with products that had a high-end look and feel. The partial ceiling was removed and the slab ceiling was painted white to help keep the space from feeling dark and the exposed duct work was repurposed.

Brand
NELSON designed a space that promoted the Magenic brand in day-to-day operations as well as client facing areas by creating an urban, loft-like feel with an open office concept encouraging collaboration. As soon as visitors enter the space they feel the “technology brand.” Rather than a typical reception desk, the lobby features a touch screen for visitors to select and contact staff members for access to the secure workspace. The feature wall branded with the Magenic logo is visible through glass partitions. People and furniture can be moved around the work space as needed, reflecting the dynamic nature of their business. The only closed spaces are the seven private offices along the perimeter, four also serve as community conference rooms, sales offices on the interior and six floating offices for visitors, private phone calls and small meetings. A casual break room is modern and functional, and the dedicated conference rooms, one for visitors and one for internal use, are fully wired to support the multiple AV needs of a technology company.

Aesthetic
Overall the space is clean, timeless, airy and light. Magenic wanted to avoid the use of typical office furniture as much as possible. NELSON was forward thinking in designing open work stations. The work space is divided into quadrants and each has a signature color assisting with way-finding. A feeling of modern sophistication pervades the office.

Magenic, pleased with the results at its headquarters had NELSON design all five locations.
