GAF, North America’s largest roofing manufacturer first came to NELSON in late 2012 with the idea of relocating their existing multi-building campus to one large, centralized location. Through a series of test-fits, GAF decided on a new location in Parisippany, NJ in late 2013. Months of detailed planning followed.
To maximize the space’s potential, NELSON enlisted help from its change management, engineering, and branding divisions. Per the client’s needs, NELSON provided an innovative, unique, and practical design. Glass front offices with low workstations were added to allow for light infiltration. Each wing was designated as a different vibrant color, and natural dark and light wood was used throughout the space.
Key elements included a full service cafeteria, an 8,000 SF fitness center complete with locker rooms and shower stations, an in-house nurse, an in-house credit union, a dry cleaning drop off station, a conference center, and an atrium for all-hands gatherings. The atrium was designed with specific branding and is used as a way-find mechanism. Additionally, a large lab component was included for product research and testing.
