Egon Zehnder, a global professional-service and leading executive-search firm, NELSON, to create a new environment in the heart of globally-connected Atlanta, Georgia that would allow its consultants to create a tangible and enduring business impact for their clients.
The new workspace aims at reflecting the company’s core values, encompassing professionalism and integrating its European heritage. The architectural styling is a fusion of contemporary European design and the southern charm of modern day Atlanta – clean lines, smart details, and strong form mixed with warm woods, flora, and soft textures. Care was taken in the planning process to maximize workplace efficiencies and encourage accidental employee collaboration through the integration of coffee bars, conferencing/meeting spaces and a large break room into the plan. Atlanta being “the city in the trees” serves as the regional design inspiration throughout the space. Wood beams at the main entry mimic a tree canopy, greenery is sprinkled throughout, and white exposed ceilings bring openness and brightness to the office. Weathered wood softens the space and glass office fronts allow exterior light into the core while also offering spectacular views of Atlanta for all employees. To permit for flexibility, the Reception and Board Room can also be opened up to create a large entertaining or meeting space when the need arises. These elements, in concert with finish selections that add an abstracted regional appeal to the space, visually tie this office to the city of Atlanta and set it apart from their other 68 offices scattered across 41 countries.
