Dover Headquarters Interior Design

NELSON was retained by Dover Corporation to create their new US headquarters in Downers Grove, IL. The company had made a decision to relocate and consolidate its four divisional leadership teams from various geographic locations and the Corporate leadership previously located in New York City. A thorough "discovery" and pre-lease analysis lead the team to implement a new planning and design solution that would be reflective of the "New Dover" and its evolving culture. With a history rich in tradition and driven by providing value to their clients through manufacturing of products that are both durable and effectively priced, Dover Corporation also needed a new workspace that embraced a global economy and virtual communication.

Dover Corporation’s internal business dynamics and ease of communication/collaboration amongst staff has become increasingly challenged as they have grown over 50 years and acquired multiple real estate holdings in cities throughout the United States, Asia and London. With the development of their new headquarters, NELSON is creating a work solution that will allow for optimal flexibility, incorporating universally sized open office workstations and a two-sized private office massing/configuration throughout the entire workplace. This headquarters will bring all departments "under one roof" and will allow Dover Corporation the opportunity to create a new unified business culture and a single unified business brand.

The ease of internal communication and team collaboration will be realized upon occupancy of their new facility, as well as the ability to reduce business/operational expenses. With two international airports close by, Dover Corporation will be able to host educational seminars and training sessions in a Conference Center and utilize a sophisticated food service café integrated by inner-connecting stairs that create ease of circulation and openness. From the very beginning, NELSON focused on the delivery of a built environment that would provide for all of the workplace amenities outlined above. We consciously strive to create "measurable results" for our clients and we believe Dover Corporation’s new headquarters will not only be a dynamic place to work, it will also improve each employee’s quality of life.
