Doctors Hospital Orthopedic Center of Excellence
The existing medical office building’s interior architecture has been re-laid out to reflect the facility’s latest patient care model. The first through third floors will handle the clinics, diagnostics, and physician offices with patient registration de-centralized taking place at each of the floors as one exits the new patient elevators. The focus is the central waiting area, which provides individual quiet seating, family groupings, and table setting for the working professionals, all with ample area to easily handle the orthopedic patients in wheelchairs. The exam pods area is readily accessible off the waiting core to facilitate wayfinding and minimize traveling for the healing patient. The pods are concentric around a nursing work area with support areas in the perimeter of the floor plate, allowing natural light into the center of the space and segregating the staff and physician traffic. The fourth floor houses a four-OR ambulatory surgical center in support of the clinics, allowing physicians to readily travel vertically to their clinics. The 50,000 SF building will house 12 physicians, with a total of 42 exam rooms.
