Big box retailer, Bed Bath and Beyond, has established a 12 year relationship with NELSON through the same, uninterrupted account leadership. After purchasing a building adjacent to their 1950s era 650 Liberty Avenue facility, Bed Bath and Beyond turned to the NELSON Team for a cost-effective, environmental sensitive and quality focused design.
Set to function as an additional headquarters on their newly formed New Jersey Headquarters Campus, the new 700 Liberty Avenue facility comprised of 40,000 SF of offices with an attached 130,000 SF warehouse space. After a positive shift in the economy, Bed Bath and Beyond began working with NELSON for adaptive reuse of the facility including a full renovation of the architectural shell, interior, MEP systems and site improvements. 
Self-described as a “frugal client,” for Bed Bath and Beyond, functionality and budget come first. Having intentionally chose to keep their headquarters “low key and modest,” branded elements from their retail sites were added into the mix. Although they have not yet embraced alternative work concepts, their work space is optimized with a mix that is typically 15 percent open plan and 85 percent private offices.
In 2014, our Information Services team was brought onto the account to assist in the selection and 60 day, fast-paced implementation of a new CAFM system. Based on our success on the project and demonstrated commitment to service excellence, we have been retained to provide on-going As-built and Space Management Services, Evacuation Map support, and Test Fits for Occupancy Planning. Additional services provided by NELSON include master planning, programming, standards development, furniture management consulting, facilities planning, interior design, and construction administration in partnership with the client's in-house CA practice.
NELSON has also successfully teamed with the client’s Corporate Facilities and Architectural Services group on various projects nationally. Our team supplements the dedicated on site staff with additional design and subject matter expertise from our regional offices.
