Shovels Up! Construction Begins at NELSON Designed Main Line...

NELSON, a global architecture, design, engineering, and consulting services firm has officially broken ground at the site of Main Line Health’s proposed 131,000 square foot Health Center in Concordville, PA. A premier destination for a broad range of health and wellness needs, the new facility will include Urgent Care for both Main Line Health and Nemours DuPont Children’s Hospital patients. Features include 50,000 square feet of Fitness and Wellness programs, including lap, therapy, and spa pools, group activities studios, strength and resistance training equipment and childcare. The three-story facility will also house a full rehabilitation suite for the Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital, a healthy lifestyle café, medical education conference center, and primary and specialty physician practices. The ground-up medical building marks the first major full service architectural/engineering project for NELSON’s growing Healthcare Practice Area.

NELSON acquired Torchia Associates in Chicago in 2012, adding to its existing global Healthcare Practice. In 2015, NELSON furthered its position in Healthcare interiors, acquiring VeenendaalCave in Atlanta. Combined with the legacy expertise of the firm’s Philadelphia team, the acquisitions have fostered the notion of forward thinking design and architecture in the realm of Healthcare, and the new Main Line Health facility serves as a prime example.

“This state-of-the-art facility is the first of its kind for NELSON’s Philadelphia Healthcare group,” said Brad Earl, AIA, Healthcare Principal at NELSON. “Our extensive history in completing Healthcare interiors and the addition of new Teammates in Philadelphia, Chicago and now, Atlanta, has led us into the next step in design and architecture. The new Main Line Health facility is the culmination of what we have been looking to achieve for quite some time, and I believe this project will set the bar high for those that follow.”

Slated for completion in late 2016, the Main Line Health facility in Concordville will take a proactive approach to health, acting as a center for fitness and wellness.

NELSON is part of a global architecture, design, and consulting services organization with Teammates in 28 locations around the world and strong experience in a broad range of industries. NELSON works with more than 20 percent of companies in the Fortune 100. NELSON’s interior design practice is ranked in the top ten overall Interior Design “Design Giants”, and in the top 5 Giants focused on workplace design.
