Connecting World-Class Research with Design Expertise

Aglobal enterprise that specializes in various fields including agricultural, health care and high-tech polymer materials, has commissioned NELSON to design the interiors of a 136,000 square foot build-to-suit facility at Dean Lakes in Shakopee, MN. Specializing in global interior design, architecture, engineering and consulting services since 1977, NELSON was selected for the building’s interiors by Ryan Companies US, Inc., a nationally recognized developer, design-builder and real estate manager. The two firms will work together exclusively on the upcoming project.

Consisting of approximately 20,000 square feet designated for office and training purposes, the remainder will include manufacturing, production and warehouse space. The project will also serve as a training facility for the client’s entire North American operations.

“The design will implement new workplace strategies that foster different ways of working,” stated Deanne Erpelding, Senior Director at NELSON. “The space will be a center for collaboration among the enterprise worldwide. They want the building to reflect their innovative culture to accommodate both group and individual tasks within a branded environment, and NELSON will provide exactly that.”

Work has begun on the project with an estimated completion date of January 2015.

NELSON was founded in 1977 and has grown to an integrated services firm offering a full range of architecture, design, engineering and strategic consulting services.
