Today, our Philadelphia office is located at "The NELSON Building" in the heart of historic Society Hill.
Surrounded by symbols of America’s heritage, including Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and the National Constitution Center, NELSON Philadelphia provides architecture, design, planning and workplace services for a broad spectrum of clients while also services as the centralized base for NELSON’s corporate operations.
In 2012, a significant portion of the H2L2 academic and architecture practices joined NELSON.
Recent local projects include the ongoing improvements at Lincoln Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles, and national account planning, workplace services and design support for clients such as TD Bank, Citi and Duane Morris.
In February 2013 Teammates from Space Design Incorporated transitioned to NELSON further strengthening our local interior design services and expanding our space measurement and management capabilities.
In a move that establishes a full-service architecture studio, NELSON and Cope Linder Architects merged operations in 2017. Adding 16 teammates including six partners to NELSON’s Philadelphia team, the merger also launched NELSON’s Hospitality practice. One of the first projects slated to be completed under the combined company is the W and Element Hotel in Center City Philadelphia. The 51 story, 295-room W Philadelphia and 460-room Element Philadelphia hotel will be 773,500 SF and a LEED Certified project featuring panoramic views, an outdoor pool bar and terrace and prime retail space.
