AIS NeoCon Showroom 2017
When NELSON and leading furniture manufacturer, AIS began their relationship in 2013, AIS had one primary goal, to elevate their reputation as a furniture company. At their event for NeoCon, the office furniture world’s premier platform and the commercial design industry’s most important event of the year, AIS showcased an updated showroom to display their latest furniture solutions.

For NeoCon 2017, NELSON and AIS created a space reminiscent of a start-up company story. No large graphics or conspicuous themes, but rather a raw and personally customizable setting for any visitor’s imagination. It was important that the showroom was more than just a visual display of office furniture. It was critical that the space evoke the visitor’s emotion and enable them to envision themselves using AIS product in their own corporate day-to-day. Similarly, it was important to highlight how well integrated AIS furniture solutions can be.

In following along the showroom path, the visitor experiences furniture vignettes for three types of work styles: the traveling employee, the part-time employee, and the full-time employee. Adjacent to these work settings are open collaborative spaces aimed at demonstrating different impromptu gathering points. The first being an informal place to quickly exchange ideas using a wall-to-table craft paper feature. The second being a high-tech meeting area around a custom interactive media wall. Finally, the last being a more private conference area using raw wood dividers and acoustic cork wall tiles Along that path, a natural OSB seating display frames an interactive wall featuring endless possibilities of seating configurations exposed in an array of “sticky notes” postcards in an expressive color palette. Visitors select the postcard that most suits their personality and take their picture at the photo booth and post it #BeyouatAIS. At the end of their journey, visitors finally arrive at the “jewel box,” a completely private office space, framing the newest “Calibrate” line of AIS furniture systems summarizing the entire experience.
